Exceed Martial Arts provides professional instruction in the 2000 year old Korean martial art of Tang Soo Do, "Way of the China Hand".

WHAT IS TANG SOO DO?

Tang Soo Do founder, Grandmaster Hwang Kee created a composite martial arts which combined the strength, stability, and hand techniques of karate with awesome kicking techniques that later became the trademark of Taekwondo.

While Tang Soo Do is unfamiliar to most people, many are familiar with Tang Soo Do's most famous practitioner, Grandmaster Chuck Norris!

Our Grandmaster, Mariano Estioko, the 2nd American ever to earn a Black Belt in Tang Soo Do, ended his tour of duty in Korea in 1958, returned to the United States, began teaching Tang Soo Do, founding the Sacramento Tang Soo Do Association, and in 1985 renamed it the Western Pacific Tang Soo Do Association to encompass his expanding organization.

Master Mike Shintaku founded the Seattle Tang Soo Do Association in 1979 and has taught Tang Soo Do in the Seattle area since 1979 and in Bellevue since 1990. The Seattle Tang Soo Do Association is affiliated with the Western Pacific Tang Soo Do Association, and the World Tang Soo Do Union.

Master Shintaku a 7th Degree Tang Soo Do Black Belt, a 1st Degree Shito Ryu Black Belt, is the owner and chief instructor of Exceed Martial Arts, founder and President of the Seattle Tang Soo Do Association, Senior Master Instructor of the Western Pacific Tang Soo Do Association, and Vice President of the World Tang Soo Do Union-USA.
